Student Code of Conduct

Igniting Innovation. Empowering Leaders. Building Character.

Our Core Values:

  • Curiosity over Perfection
  • Teamwork over Ego
  • Respect over Rivalry

What We Expect from Every Spark:

  • Come Prepared & On Time

    • Show up on time and stay until the end—your team depends on you.
    • Respect everyone’s time by arriving ready to work and helping the team stay on track.
  • Student-Centered Policy

    • In keeping with VEX Robotics/RECF student-centered approach, all design, building, programming, documentation, and problem-solving must be performed by the students.
    • Student Ownership: All ideas, solutions, and outcomes must come from student effort and creativity.
    • This policy ensures a fair competition experience and aligns with official VEX expectations.
  • Be Respectful

    • Speak and act with kindness—toward coaches, teammates, volunteers, and even competitors.
    • Listen actively and communicate thoughtfully—your voice matters, and so do others’.
  • Leave It Better Than You Found It

    • Clean up your build area, room, and practice field before you leave.
    • Keep your tools, robot, and workspace organized so everyone can succeed.
  • Be a Team Player

    • Collaboration is core to robotics. Support each other, share responsibilities, and celebrate wins together.
    • Give credit where it’s due. No one builds a bot alone.
  • Be Accountable

    • Own your words, your work, and your attitude.
  • Be Inclusive

    • We rise by lifting others. All backgrounds, identities, and ideas are welcome.
    • Make space for quieter voices and be open to diverse perspectives.
  • Be Safe

    • Follow safety protocols with tools, robots, and devices.
    • If something feels unsafe, say something.
  • Embrace the Grind

    • Struggles, fails, and retries are part of the game. Don’t quit when it’s hard—spark when it’s tough.
  • Represent with Pride

    • Whether in a build room, at a competition, or online—you represent The Mind Spark.
    • Lead with integrity, win with humility, and lose with dignity.

⚠️ Violations May Result In:

A conversation with coaches, temporary loss of privileges (like build time) and in serious cases, removal from the team.
